Our first Wednesday episode! Hybuir was nice enough to send us an MoP Expansion code, and the lucky guy won our contest for a 30 day time code in return. Talk about instant karma return.
In this episode Sigmandis dives into the new features of patch 5.1 as Xantar serves as his all knowing guide. We want to hear your feedback on the patch as well! Head over to our Facebook page and comment on the post for this episode. We will read it on the air next week.
We also wanted to reach out to our fans and give you a few incentives to email / phone us. Sigmandis has fixed the Skype line so you can still call us at (919)521-8WoW and leave us a message. If phone calls arn’t your thing email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Remember to check out the secret phrase of the week on the Facebook page and include it in your call or email for a chance to win next month’s 30 day time code. Each phone call you send us gets you two entries for the time code, an email gets you one. As an additional incentive the first person to call in and leave us a voice mail, or send us an email will automatically win a cinder kitten (to be delivered once Blizzard releases it). We love to hear your feelings on the show, but to win the cinder kitten your call or email must contain something we can discuss about WoW.
Also check out the episode to hear how you can win Hybuir’s copy of MoP!
Well we finally made it! Episode 50 is upon us and we share a lot of WoW and podcasting knowledge with y’all. We welcome our friend and host of Twizzcast Twizz. We discuss the security breach at Blizzard, portals, LFR in the MoP beta, and much much more. Remember, we still have six beta keys left to giveaway so get your emails and phone calls in for episode 51 with Jay and Mike from Stopcast.
If you launched the beta client this week you might have noticed that you were suddenly faced with a massive download. No, that’s not a mistake. There’s been so many changes and features released that Blizzard re-released the entire beta…well ok we’re not sure how much got enabled, but you still have to re-download the entire client. We do know that the pet battle system has been unlocked and Sigmandis and Xantar plan to square off on next weeks show (had to postpone due to the download), and we also mention some portals that have appeared in the Panda capitol cities. We also touch on how to spruce up your UI, and even have some news on the live game! Contact info after the break. More…
Heads up, for some reason there’s about 25 seconds of silence at the beginning of this episode. I tried to get rid of it, but every time I bounced the file in Logic it kept adding silence to the beginning. I checked everything, and it keeps doing it. We did a really quick show going over beta coverage stuff because Xantar had work stuff during the usual time and we had to record with just an hour to spare since I had to raid. More…
This week one of the show’s hosts got kidnapped…well not quite. Xantar is absent and Sigmandis put out the call to get people on the show quickly. We’re not going to claim that this show is the same caliber that you’re used to, but we did try our best given the time we had to throw it together. We have launched a new Facebook page for the show and will start to separate it from the Raleighite.com Facebook page. Please like the new page at Facebook.com/Holyshatt
Xantar is back from his trip across Canada. Sigmandis has all the technology working…sort of. Blizzard doesn’t have any new stuff for us in live, but there’s a bunch of beta news. We give away a humble indy bundle to our live listeners, which you could have been a part of if you joined in on the live show every Sunday at 10PM EST / 7 PM PST. Show contact info after the break. Remember we give away a 30 day time card on every show…if you send emails. More…
Both Xantar and I am very sorry this took so long to get up. 10 minutes before the show I must have done something to anger the tech gods as nearly anything in my apartment having to deal with technology has been failing. Why 10 minutes before show you ask? Well that was the time the Macbook Pro that we use to record the show decided to die. Then the backup solution I had been working with Xantar on his end decided to not function correctly. Then my microphone boom’s table clamp decided to come apart, then the TWITCH.TV feed decided to break, then the shock wave plugin on all my web browsers decided to stop functioning, and finally when I came home from work yesterday my washing machine decided to die as well. So I was finally able to take the time to pull the TWITCH.TV feed into Logic Pro, try to dress it up some, and get it posted on the site. I’m even throwing in show notes!
Show notes to come, just wanted to get the episode posted. Sorry its late
So unfortunately besides the implementation of battle tags not much has changed in Azeroth these past few days. To make up for the lack of news our hosts talk about funny stories that happened over their vacation, we do the most random live dungeon run topic in the history of the show, and go over an email and a phone call from listeners. More…
Expect show notes during the week, that is if I can access the internet on a cruise ship. Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!!!
A special thanks to all the podcasting people that helped me and Xantar get this show off the ground. You have no idea how much your advice, help, and friendship has meant to me these past few months. Your shows will be listed once I get the chance to update the show notes and I plan on adding bookmarks on the home page when I get the time to update it.
